6.) VENICE Codecs
VENICE supports numerous different codecs which are typically used in broadcast
environments. Compressed formats are stored in different variants of MXF. VENICE
supports MXF OP-Atom, MXF OP-1a and P2. There are also DIF files available for
the DV formats.
Sony codecs
XDCAM IMX:
Video rasters: 720 × 576 and 720 × 486
Video bit rates: 30, 40, 50 Mbit/sec.
Frames per second: 25 and 29.97
Audio bit rates: 16 and 24
Audio channels: 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 in 16 bit; 0, 2, 4 in 24 bit
File format: MXF OP-1a
XDCAM DVCAM:
Video rasters: 720 × 576 and 720 × 486
Video bit rate: 25 Mbit/sec.
Frames per second: 25 and 29.97
Audio bit rates: 16
Audio channels: 0, 4
